Busy day yesterday.
Well, normal day at work,
but after work…
It started with a dash home to let the chickens out.
The babies are getting BIG!
Some of them are starting to get trail feathers.
They are so cute!
No.
I didn’t take a picture.
But I will…
Then over to a new “park” the Town just dedicated.
Several members of the various boards/committees
from the town got together to walk the property
and come up with ideas for future use.
Naturally the bike guys are eyeing it for
bike trails/paths.
It’s 17.5 acres the state donated gave to the town
and then the town dedicated it to our recently
deceased Mayor.
It is a nice piece of property.
Overgrown.
WET.
But with lots of trees (palm and oak) and a nice
little creek running through it.
We spent an hour checking it out
And then had the obligatory
Photo Shoot.
Yah, I'm trying to be invisible - in PINK. |
Then to return the dog crates the new laying hens
(who are not yet laying)
came in last weekend.
Then, to WalMart to get some groceries.
And then to Jim and Sabrina’s to wish her a
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
and give her a little gift.
Then grab a quick Burger King sandwich in the drive thru
and back to the house to bring in the chickens
(it was dark by then, so they were already “in” just had to close the door)
and then into the house to wash eggs.
(We ended up with 10 dozen for the week…)
By then, Kyle was home and helped me with the eggs.
FINALLY got to sit down and eat some dinner
Watch a little TV
And head off to bed.
Naturally, there is NOTHING on tap for tonight.
Feast or famine folks.
Feast or famine.

Ten DOZEN eggs?? You must have a lot of chickens! Our three old ladies are barely laying in this heat and I think they're about done laying anyway. We average about an egg or an egg and a half a day.
Thanks for commenting Katie! I have 60+ but with this heat I'm not getting the eggs I should either. we just got back from a week in Utah and yesterday I got 14 total. before we left I was getting 32 every day. slackers!!!
