It's starting to LOOK a little like winter.
It FEELS like a Florida winter.
Right now (at 10 am) it's 43.
But the sky is overcast and gray and
it just LOOKS like it should be snowing.
Our trees are mostly naked.
But there are certainly trees that
still have green leaves on them.
Our peas are looking rough, but still producing.
Same with the tomaoes.
The beans are done.
I'm just leaving some on there to dry
so we will have seed for next year.
And the carrots are getting sweet!
YEA!
We don't actually get much snow here.
There was ONE snow event last year,
remember those pictures
from last January?
You can nearly see the grass through the snow,
so it wasn't much.
It was COLD (for here.....)
But the sky was BLUE BLUE BLUE, which is
what it usually looks like here.
So this overcast thing that has been going on
for several days this week is weird.
I'm not loving it.
It was GORGEOUS on Tuesday.
But all the rest of the week has been kind
of drizzling and cloudy.
(It was in the 70's on Sunday... pretty sure that
was the last one for this year.)
Anyhow.
I have the furnace on, I'm going to go bake
some bacon for breakfast and then I'm
probably going to make some bread.
We bought 2 cute little tiny bread pans
because bread is BEST when its fresh.
I'll make some every day or every other day.
Only takes 5 minutes to mix it up.
No kneading.
Then cover it for several hours (it takes
longer in the winter! And when there's
no sun streaming in my window, so I
can't set my bowl there... it takes even longer.)
But it sure tastes good!
Maybe today I'll do cinnamon raisin instead.
YUM!
Ok folks.
That's it for today.
I had a nice chat with Soni this morning.
And now it's off to get the day started.
