Spring has sprung, the grass has riz
Wonder where the rain storms is!
(Yah, I know, not the actual words, but we would REALLY like some rain...)
You can tell it's spring around here. Not by the thermometer - it's been in the 80's for a month or two already.
But Saturday "Spring" officially arrived.
A tour of the back pasture showed new sprigs of grass from the heavy seeding Kyle did on Monday.
And then Jim did Andy's annual clipping! He looks (and I'm sure FEELS) so much better! He was actually running around and bucking in the back pasture this morning before breakfast!
Before - look at ALL that HAIR! |
Aaaaah, that feels better! |
And then to top it off, I stopped by Tractor Supply to pick up a salt block for the pasture, but came home with 6 four-day-old chicks (3 blond and 3 black) and all the goodies they need to stay happy and healthy.
The six little girls. Names pending (right now they all look alike!) |
Sabrina fell in love with them! (And of course Jim and Rod threatened to eat them...) |
While getting clipped, Andy got into some of his favorite spring weeds. They are small, sweet and delish! But they have these little tiny "hitch hikers" that stick in his "beard" and drive him nuts...
And here is a picture of Mom's beautiful afghan she made for the "kids"... They LOVE it!
She is busy finishing Hunger Games #3... her cow makes a good book rest. |
