SO TIRED.....

We had a good day today!

Well, and yesterday too.....
Yesterday they delivered the new shed!

It looks tiny.
It's just the perspective.
It's a healthy 12 x 16.

It has one window.
But lots of room inside for the 2 lawn mowers
and some of the stuff from inside Kyle's house...
and then in January / February when we need to
start seeds, we will put in shelves and grow lights
to get the garden started right this year.

And then after they delivered it, we all
jumped in Kyle's truck and headed to Hays
to get some yarn and tree ornaments from Hobby Lobby,
then to Home Depot to get some stuff for both
of the houses...
then to WalMart for a new sweatshirt for me
and thermals for all 3 of us... it has been CHILLY
(yesterday the high was 37. Today it was 58
and tomorrow is 61!!!! But winter will be back...)
Oh, and dog food.

Meanwhile, Kyle rented a telehandler to put the top siding
on the house, add eaves and drip to the roof,
and then finally get the shingles on.
It will be so good to have all that done!!!
Then the electrician is supposed to get there
in the next week or so and wire it up so we
can put in the plumbing, insulation and close up the walls.
Then it's just the rest of the cosmetic stuff.
(He already built the interior walls, just waiting for
the wire and plumbing...)
There aren't many walls. It's a pretty open concept.

Anyhow.
We are all excited to see his progress!

And while he was working on that,
Rod and I did all the prep work so he can start
laying block tomorrow!

Huh.
I thought I took some pictures.
Guess not.

We measured the length of the side walls (36')
and the length of the front & back walls (40')
then we set blocks and marked the concrete.
Then we did the diagonal measurements to make
sure it was a square and not a squiggle.
There was a LOT of adjusting.
Walk over there and hold this tape.
Now walk over here and hold this tape.
Now move that block 1/4 inch.
Now walk over there and measure again.
Now move that block 2 inches.
Now walk over there and measure again.
And again.
And again.
And again.
And then..... tada!!! It was the right number!
On EVERY measurement!
So then we dry set some blocks to make
sure the little mud room sticking off to the side
was also going to work.
And then at 3:00 I baled cuz I needed to get
home and get ready to teach.
(And get the carrots in the freeze dryer and the
clothes out of the laundry...)

And now I'm done teaching.
I'm going to eat some of the pizza I have
been smelling for the last 45 minutes
and then I'm going to BED.

(I taught 90% of the class with my eyes
closed tonight... I'm TIRED!)

Tomorrow is the Ward Christmas Party at 5:00.
Rod is going to lay block.
I have to bake some cookies and prepare my
YW lesson for Sunday.
Sunday I have to attend Ward Conference at 8:30,
teach the YW lesson and then we have
Linger Longer after church.
(The theme is "milk and cookies"...)
I might make old fashioned molasses cookies,
or just rice krispie squares... lol.
We'll see.

Anyhow.
Have a wonderful weekend!
NIGHT!
