Vacation Plans Change

This post is mostly for me.
So I have a record.
For when we rebook.

Yup, REbook.

Kyle ended up in the ER again Friday night.
(Well, Saturday morning...)
He called me in my hotel about 2:45.
He has been having trouble breathing lately.
Not breathing, getting oxygen.
He thinks he has developed asthma.
Possibly from all the chemicals he has
breathed in over the many years working
at the farm and ranch.

They did an X-ray on his lungs and said
they were clear, his blood oxygen levels
were 100%. He’s fine.
The diagnosis was stress induced anxiety.

Headed to the Urgent Care on Saturday
morning with Rod.
Got an excellent Dr.
(The ER Doc was a dud.)

First thing she did was trash the scrip he
got at the ER. Said it was a great idea
if he was a 300 pound man.
Gave him something more reasonable
and a recommendation for a bunch of more
natural choices.
Spent about 30 minutes with them.
He felt better about the whole thing when
they were done.

But none of us are comfortable with the
idea of him being in an airplane and having
another attack tomorrow while on a 7 hour flight.
(Not to mention its COLD out there right now...)

So this morning I cancelled our flight.
Rod cancelled the rental car.
And I kind of had an idea this was coming,
so I actually never booked our hotel rooms.

He's feeling better today,
heart is racing a bit (80-84, not terrible)
which is a side effect of the meds.
Sitting on the couch, eating a banana to bring
his potassium levels up,
and watching a silly kid movie.
(Decided his usual movies are too ... action packed?)
Hahahahahahahaha.

Meanwhile, I'm cancelling flights,
cleaning the kitchen, unpacking from the weekend,
finishing my school paperwork,
and planning to head to the grocery store.
(There's no food since we were going to be gone
for a week...)

Anyhow.
We are all disappointed to not be going.
Especially Kyle and Rod.
But this freak storm, combined with Kyle's
medical issues ... we'll just put it on hold for a bit.
(I suggested to swap the Utah mountains for a
car trip to the Tennessee mountains... they are
"thinking about it" for maybe next week...)
Rod is going to work this week but Kyle is still
taking a week vacation.
(He has 5 weeks built up...)
He didn't tell Linda where he was going, so he isn't
going to say anything to her.
Just not having to talk to them multiple times
every day will help with his stress levels.

So.

That's the current state of affairs.

Classic Kyle

The other day this photo popped up
in my Facebook memories.

He does NOT like his picture taken.
Hahahahahahahahaha

Mini Waffles

I got a new toy!
Uh, Tool!

Everybody on Trim Healthy has been
playing with the new Dash Mini Waffle Maker.
And I decided it was time to
get on board with everybody else.

So I looked into it.

Amazon is on back order for 2-4 weeks.
Walmart had none.
Target (online) had none. I don't have
a Target near by so I never shop there...

I checked Bed, Bath & Beyond online.
They had ONE and its orange.
So I reserved it.
And then I drove over.
After paying for it, I decided to wander
around the store for awhile, since its
in town and I never get over there.

And I found an entire display, full of
Dash Mini Waffle Makers!
Orange, Red and a beautiful Teal.
So I grabbed the pretty Teal one and
headed back to the front desk.
She swapped them out for me and then
I called Rod (since it was 3:30) and
we met at Steak 'N Shake (in the BBB
parking lot) for a quick late lunch after work.

It was NICE!

And then we went home.
And I pulled my fancy teal waffle maker
out of its box.
And it was a mini griddle.
NOT what I wanted, at all!

So...

Today I headed back over to BBB.
Sure enough, there were a dozen or so
of the orange ones and 3 red.
So I grabbed the red one and took it back
up to the desk to make ANOTHER swap!

It's so tiny and cute!
That's a SALAD fork!

Glad I didn't keep the orange one though,
because she said they make
PUMPKIN shaped waffles.
Like, what are you supposed to do with that???

Anyhow.

Once I got it home, I whipped up a batch of
Wonderful Blender Waffles (THM)
and started cooking.

Makes a darling little, hamburger bun sized waffle.

Once I got 4 made, Rod came and filled them with
some egg salad for two yummy sandwiches.

I made 16 more.
Counting the 4 Rod ate, the one we tested together
and the one he snitched while he thought I wasn't
looking ... hahahaha, it made 2 dozen.

You stick 'em in the toaster (or the air fryer)
for a minute to crisp 'em up and then eat 'em up!
They make yummy sandwiches with all sorts
of fillings like the egg salad, ham and cheese,
eggs and sausage...
Or, you know, you could eat them like a waffle.
With maple syrup.

Whatever.

But I think it was $9.99 well spent.

Bat vs Ray

So I get why Kyle's new bat wing
is call that. The sides fold up like a bat.

But when he got back to the ranch
yesterday, he hooked it up and headed
across the road to the 20 acre pasture
and gave it a test run.

I think it is mis-named.

I think it should be called a stingray!
Don't you think?

He was pleased with the way it worked and the
fact that it cut his mowing time by more than half.
Which is GREAT!

However then it was time to put it away.

He is an amazing driver and actually got it in.
But its not for the faint of heart!
Guess instead of 10' doors they should have
ordered 12's.

Welder Dude

The new bat wing was missing a
tongue/trailer jack, so last night
Rod and Kyle ran out and got one
and this morning Kyle welded on the
receiver so it will work.

He was still in town today because
they bought a new UTV (for Gina
to use when she moves her family
across the street from the ranch in January)
and it is supposed to be delivered today
at her Mom's house in Melbourne.
Then he'll hop in the ranch truck and
run the bat wing up to the ranch,
spend the night and come back and
get the UTV.

He brought the smaller trailer down from
the ranch so he could pick it up,
but then got the call about the bat wing,
so is going to hook up the small trailer
to HIS truck (the big trailer is hooked to
the ranch truck...) and run over there,
pick it up and bring it here, so he can
run it up later in the week.

However, he just got a call.

They are delivering it right now.

At the ranch.

Sigh.

********************************************

Update: Linda was able to get a neighbor
up there to sign for it, gave the delivery driver
the gate code to the front gate at the ranch
and they are going to take it up and drop
it by the house.
Kyle will be there in 4 hours.

This is Kyle's life.

Quick Trip

This morning I got up,
fed the animals,
tidied the kitchen,
made my breakfast
and got a call from Kyle.
(He was at the chiropractor...)

He had gotten up,
loaded up his fuel drums
and gone to pick up fuel
for the equipment at the ranch.
Then he went to the chiro.
And got a phone call from Gina.

She found a "batwing" (those giant
mowers you see on the side of
the highway across the country...)
for a good price in Okeechobee.

So...

He came home,
I got to drive the Cat,
while he unloaded the fuel drums
from the back of the truck
and onto his big trailer.
(He said I did a good job!)

And then we headed south.

It's old and rusty,
but he decided at half the price
of a new one, it was good enough.
So he bought it.
They loaded it onto his trailer
and he strapped (chained) it down.

It's a BIG piece of equipment,
with the wings extended it has a 15' reach!
But he has a BIG piece of property.
He's been mowing the ranch with a
6' drag behind mower.
He spent 3 days last week mowing
ONE PASTURE!
Ridiculous!
And costly!
You have to make WAY more passes
and use WAY more fuel in the tractor!

So he is VERY happy to have this
added to his equipment.

After we got it all loaded and secured,
we went across the street to the
Okeechobee Livestock Sale Barn.
(They only have sales on Mondays...)

Auctioneer selling a cow!
(And the nice lady recording each sale...)

Real live ranchers,
buying said cow.

More buyers.
And another cow.

How they enter the ring.
(The floor is a giant weigh scale...)
The weight is displayed behind the
auctioneer's head.
He calls out the prices as the buyers
hold up fingers and make secret signals.
It was hard to follow,
but FASCINATING!

We stuck around for an hour.
Then literally went next door to the
feed store and I bought 200 more pounds
of cow feed (I bought 200# on the way down
to school on Friday, but with us going out
of town, I wanted to make sure we had
PLENTY...)

And then we headed home.

It was a fun day!
And we got lots accomplished!

Teresa Tapp

Today is the one year anniversary of losing
someone I considered a friend.
A mentor.
An example.
A guide.
A source of knowledge.
An inspiration.

Our facebook group pages are full
today of tributes and pledges
and challenges.

I did my favorite workout with her
this morning and enjoyed my time with her.
And I will continue to do so.
Knowing she is watching.
Encouraging.
Never judging.

Yes I Can.

Zap!

I had a bunch of errands to run this morning.
We had a "cold front" come through over night
and we have a lovely north wind that has
cooled everything off and dropped the
humidity a bunch.
A lovely day!

So I opened my car windows AND my
sun roof!
And then I pulled up to the gate to let
myself out of the property.
Drove through and went back to close
the gate.
And got ZAPPED by a wasp!
I saw it land on my hand and sting me.
Right on my pointer finger knuckle.
(Where I have arthritis... little stinker!)

I keep a tin of Bountiful Balm in my purse,
so I immediately grabbed it and put some on.
It has plaintain and peppermint and is good
for various skin issues.
(It takes care of my cold sores in a HURRY!)

Anyhow.

I headed to Aldi's to get dog food for the week
and then across the street to WalMart for some
wasp spray (haha) and then home.
As soon as I walked in the door, they called
from the Town to tell me my paycheck was ready,
so I hopped back in the car and ran over.

I had Denine take a picture of my hands.

Its a bit swollen and super itchy.

Anyhow.
When I got home, Kyle phoned and we visited
for a little bit. I told him about my wasp sting
and he laughed at me.

He texted me about 15 minutes after we hung up.
He got stung by a wasp!
Right on his achilles tendon where his
boot top hits it when he walks.

KARMA!

*********************************************

UPDATE:
The swelling is going down.
Denine marked it with a sharpie and its less
swollen than it was.
Still tight and hot, but getting better.
Which is good - cuz I needed to make a
giant blueberry pancake for Rod to eat for
his breakfasts. Poor guy ran out and I
haven't made anything to replace it.
BAD WIFE!

Wild Hair

Kyle NEEDS a vacation.
That poor man works so hard.
And puts in so many hours.
Case in point... he stayed at the ranch
this weekend - sold a couple cows
and took a couple more to the auction.
He has enough hours last week that he
only needs to work today and tomorrow
and then he's done.
(But he has too much work to do to be done...)

Anyhow.

Rod was playing around on the Southwest
low fare website yesterday.
Found some CHEAP tickets.
So I called Kyle and then we bought them!

We are heading to UTAH!
Flying out on Tuesday, October 1 and
coming back on Tuesday, October 8.

We'll stop by and see Soni and family when
we get into town, but then we are going to
run north to Logan.
Kyle wants to climb "his" mountains.

I have enough hotel points we can get
a free room for 3 of the nights and a
discounted room for the rest.
(In Brigham City)
And then I think we will head up to
Yellowstone for one night.

We are excited!
This is Rod's first trip since we moved
M&D to Tucson and Kyle's first trip
in ... forever?
(2016 I think... when he was in Logan!)

Yea for WILD HAIRS!
(Speaking of which, I'm heading to the
Hair Cuttery - cuz I got me some
WILD HAIRS!)

Soggy Weekend?

Looks like we might have a soggy weekend.
Tropical Depression #9 is hanging out
and is looking like it will slide up
the coast dumping rain and wind.

It won't be "weather" but puts a damper
on any outside plans.

They are predicting it will become a
Tropical Storm on Saturday.
But that won't likely change anything.

Not sure yet if Kyle will be home.
He was going to stay up there.
But then this morning he said he was
going to come on home.
But he hasn't left yet.
And its after 6.
So, I guess I'll know when he shows up.
Or not.
(grin)

I'm off this weekend.
And then next week its back to school.
Rod is off.
Kyle might be home.
Guess I'd better figure out some FOOD!

Thursday, September 12, 2019

Its Thursday

It was a BUSY, TIRING, but fun day yesterday.
You saw all the great pictures on FB that
Rod took. He had a good time helping us
and it was great that he got to see us "in action"
so he has some idea what we are talking about.
I was grateful he was there to work his gate.
Sometimes you just NEED 3 sets of hands!
(well, feet!)

Anyhow.

On the way home we stopped at Rural King
and got a car load full of horse feed, so our
feed room is now all loaded up and I feel so much
better! Especially with another storm on the horizon.

The feed prices are so much lower up there!
We got $151 worth of food for $128!

So anyhow.

When we got home we unloaded all the feed,
fed the horses, cows and dogs and then
it was dark.
And late.
And so we hopped in the car and went to
Waffle House for ... wait for it... a waffle.
It was yummy!
I haven't eaten a normal waffle in YEARS!

This morning I woke up to the TV cable broken.
The website said it was out all over and they were
working on it.
So I went outside to feed the animals and Buddy
was laying down in the pasture.
He eventually got up and wandered into his stall
where he sniffed his food and laid down again.
So I got him out. I don't like them down in their
stalls - too easy for them to get "cast" (code for stuck)
and also if the worst happens, hard to get them out.

So I took him out and put him in the shade by the
water trough - and down he went.
I put a bucket of wet alfalfa for him.
He nibbled a tiny bit but went down again.

When I let the horses back out, he followed them
to the back and then I had to leave to do a NARA.
(Needs and Resource Analysis)
Naturally I got a text from my farrier that he was
actually going to be on time for a change and was
just heading to my house.
That NEVER happens.
So I explained about Buddy.
He and his wife Jamie did Andy and CJ,
said Buddy was down the whole time.
They were gone by the time I got back.

Meanwhile, Jim took care of the dogs for us
while we were out of town, and as usual,
Beau was ANGRY about it all.
He refused to come back in the house last night
and also refused to eat.

This morning he was happy to see me, but still
refused to eat and VERY suspicious about coming
inside - sure I was going to leave him again.
(Which I promptly did - see above... lol)
He seems to have forgiven me a bit now though.
He finally ate a little bit of his breakfast.
Stinker!
(Not spoiled AT ALL!)

So anyhow.

Naturally the horse drama is happening on a Thursday.
It always does.
Our little calf that died - died late Wed night.
Needed to be buried on a Thursday.
A couple of weeks ago I was sure Andy was going.
On a Thursday.
And naturally today is Thursday.

So?

Thursday is the day that all the city people
(no animal experience / knowledge)
come to Brock's next door to get their
organic food orders.
Generally I put the horses up in the front
yard so they are out of sight
(but also folks can't reach over the fence and
feed them ... whatever they can find to feed them...)
Not today though.
Rod will be home in another hour or so.

Anyhow.

I just burned my lunch.
So my house smells like burned cabbage.
Yum.

Busy and Spoons!

I finished up the August class this past weekend.
I still have the tail end of a cold.
So pretty much lost my voice again Saturday.

Luckily the students do a midterm practice test
for an hour or so on Saturday morning
and I have them write in their workbooks for
a couple of hours in the afternoon.
(Several different times, not all together...)
So I did get to rest it a little.

Sunday my voice was a little better,
I stopped at the drug store after school and got
some throat lozenges (and trash bags)
and sucked on those most of the day.
It was a LONG day, since I had to give the final
but this group was SHARP and they were all done
by 8:30 which gave me 30 minutes to do all
the admin stuff I usually do between 9 and 9:30.
AND I got my first 100% score in awhile!
Out of 16 students who tested, 15 of them PASSED!
And the one who didn't got a 65%!
I was proud of them all.
Entered all the scores at 9:00 and was OUT!
It was wonderful!

I left town earlier than normal on Friday afternoon
(3:30 instead of 6:30 or 7)
and went to the little city of Okeechobee
where they have the BEST cow feed.
Loaded up my trunk with 300# of
"Long Steer Grower".
The cows love it, it's putting lots of weight on them
and it is the least expensive I've found so far!
($8.35/50# bag!)
Spent $50.00! That should feed them for
at least 2 weeks. Maybe even 3.

Anyhow.

Because of where Okeechobee is, I have to drive
30 miles into the center of the state and south
a little bit and then I thought I was going to have
to drive back to get on the Turnpike.
But NO!
There's a lovely country highway that runs
straight down to West Palm!
So the side trip only added about 25 miles total
to my trip and hardly any extra time!
I'm TOTALLY doing this all the time!

Anyhow.

Yesterday I unloaded all 300# of feed and then drove
in to town to get more feed for the horses.
Kyle headed to the ranch (by way of Linda's to get a
couple of cows to take north with him - he ended up
staying in town all week since he wasn't feeling much
better and Linda was keeping an eye on the one cow
since she had a runny "bunch"... love auto correct -
we never DID find out what that meant... hahahah)

Cleaned the house, did the laundry, did all my
school reports and rested.

This morning I fed everybody and then mowed the yard.
Now I'm heading back into town to get dog food.
And then I'll be heading north to the ranch to help Kyle.
Time for our monthly "weigh and spray".

So... spoons.
While Kyle was home sick over the weekend,
he got BORED. He can NOT sit still for a whole week.
So he went out back and found an interesting branch.

He carved his first spoon!

It has a natural "hump" in the handle which fits the
curve in my palm like it was custom designed!
I LOVE it!

It's not done yet - the bowl isn't finished.

But he is getting there!
(It's sitting on the bedside table he made years ago...)

Anyhow.

I'm pretty sure it is about a tablespoon...
so I might beg for it.
Birthday present?

Better get this show on the road.
But wanted to check in.

Have a great day!

It's OVER!

Dorian has been and gone.
Unfortunately still heading up to
Georgia and the Carolinas
and perhaps on to Halifax!
But I've deleted all the hurricane pages
I was following.

Beau's hurricane face.
Big eyes, ears perked, wondering
what on earth that noise is!

It's breezy now.
But the sun is shining.

Unfortunately, last night Kyle came down
with the flu!
Poor guy was one giant ache.
Nauseated.
Headache, body ache, miserable.

He threw up a bunch last night
and is finally feeling a bit better today.
Hopefully it was one of those 24 hour bugs.

Because its back to the real world tomorrow.
Rod will be heading back to work after nearly
an entire week off!
And Kyle should head back to the ranch to
check on everybody.
(And he needs to take a couple of Linda's cows
up there to join the main herd...)

I'll be teaching the 2nd half of last month's
class this weekend.

The guys took the boards off Kyle's bedroom windows
this afternoon because he can't survive in the dark.
But we are leaving the rest up.
There are several other "areas of concern"
between here and Africa.
Season isn't over til Nov 30.

On that happy thought...
thanks for all the prayers!
We feel blessed!

Bonus Post

Yes, we are a little bored.
So you get another post.

The feeder bands are starting to come in.
Hard but fast.
It rained nearly sideways for about 5 minutes.
And now the sun is peaking through again.

We are getting constant updates from the
Brevard County Emergency Management.

"The storm is passing by us now.
Conditions are expected to deteriorate
throughout the afternoon and evening.
STAY HOME.
STAY OFF THE BEACH."

(Just saw on FB - Jim and crew went fishing...)

So.
We didn't get much of a hurricane.
But we DID get some awesome
home improvements!

When we took the table/desk out of the office
and took the shelves off the wall (used to hold
all the vinyl we used for Buffalo Graffics)
the guys moved 2 of our freezers into the room.
It's AWESOME having them in there!
So much more convenient!

The chest freezer has all our beef and
bags and bags of ice.
(The ice maker in our fridge is broken...
and making ice is a pain in the neck...)
(Although less so now that my freezer isn't
out in the garage...)

Then Rod took the shelves that WERE in that room,
cut them to the right length, and installed them
in my laundry room!

I am BEYOND excited about that!
All that stuff has been in my pantry.
But now it is right there, right where I need it.
SO handy!
And - BONUS - when I take Rod's uniforms
out of the dryer, I can put them right on hangers
and hang them from the bottom shelf!
SCORE!!!

I hear Rod "doing stuff" in the office.

Oh look!
There was one shelf left over, so he
custom fit it and stuck it back
on the wall for some of my "extra"
kitchen appliances!

Things I use, but not every day.
AWESOME!
Thank you my darling!
You are amazing!

Celebration Breakfast

Dorian is moving!!!
Not very much
and not very fast
but at least it is...

And its the little things.

So I'm making a celebration breakfast.

Two trays of bacon with brown "sugar" on top.
Keto / THM friendly!
(And delicious!)

I also did another tray with half tater tots
and half chopped okra.

And a big pan of cheesy scrambled eggs.
It was yummy!
And I forgot to take a picture.

It's breez-indy. More than a breeze but
less than an actual wind.
So far no rain, but its coming.
(Just looked outside - its here...)

Just got the 11:00 a.m. update.
The storm has dropped to a Cat 2.
Once it gets into the gulf stream
that could change again.
But... as always... we don't know.

Time for a different kind of map.

Jim showed me this website.
There's lots of interesting stuff
and lots of stuff I don't understand.
But this one makes sense.
(The tiny numbers are wind speeds.)

Here's another one.
I'm not as happy about this one...

These are projected power outages.
Yuck.
Fingers crossed they are wrong.
We can totally do a power outage.
We have 2 generators.
But we would rather NOT.
Rod has been off work since Friday.
He's getting paid... but he's also getting bored.
(understatement of the world!)
If there's no power, the airport will stay closed.
And our house will stay HOT.

But we are still a gazillion gazillion times better
off than the folks in the Bahamas.
So we'll take what we get and be grateful.

WalMart

So.....
I'm bored.

I decided to brave the grocery store.
Drove by Publix and it didn't look too bad.
But went on up the street to WalMart to
see what it looked like.
If it looked crazy I'd head back to Publix.

But it didn't look bad at all.
I even parked in my usual parking spot!

People inside were all smiling at each other,
being super extra polite.
The workers were keeping the shelves
well stocked - the only row I saw that was
cleaned out was the bread.
And they had just refilled half of them...
so there was plenty to go around.

There were LOTS of flats of water
with a 2 / household limit.
So I got 2.
And 2 more bags of ice.
And 2 bags of okra because... okra!
(I panic if I don't have at least 2 bags in
my freezer at all times... I eat half a bag
every morning for breakfast...)
And SIX canisters of sugar free drink mix.
(Rod and Kyle drink LOTS and will drink
more if we lose power and its hot...)
And a jar of butter coconut oil.
Cuz I'm nearly out.
And that is a travesty.
And I keep forgetting to get some.

Then I got a bag of potatoes and carrots
for me and another set for Jim.
And got him some canned veggies.
(They don't have a generator)
(Half the water and ice is for his house)

Oh yeah, and some more salad, cherry tomatoes
and mushrooms since they were there...

It was hysterical watching other people's carts.

One man had a bag of ice and a case of beer.
A lady had a bag of baby carrots, a hand of bananas
and a small bag of onions.

Another guy had about 12 cases of pepsi and a
couple of chocolate cake mixes.
Birthday party???

I was in and out in less than an hour.
Which is about normal.
On the way out I noticed the store was
filling up.
And they took down ALL the little
cart corrals - they had an army of guys
out there grabbing carts and bringing them
back into the store.
Don't want those things crashing around out there.

While I was gone, Rod mowed the back yard.

So... we are sitting on the couch,
watching last week's Master Chef.

****************************************************
Storm update:
It is moving ONE MILE PER HOUR.
Good gravy.
It's breezy here - we are expecting random
feeder bands (rain) throughout the day
with the storm FINALLY coming some time
tomorrow morning-ish.
Still no idea how close to the coast it will be.
Or what the wind speed will be.
But we are all boarded up except for the
kitchen and patio - we need some light in here
and can get those up quickly when its time.

30%-40% chance of hurricane force winds.

I have emailed all my students.
I'll text my ministering sisters here in a bit.
I guess I'll read a book.
Or something.

The Fun Continues

And the waiting goes on...

Meanwhile.
The well pump tank for the well
that runs the entire property
decided to spring a leak today.

There should be a tank in that corner.
It's sitting next to the truck.

Despite it being the Sabbath,
I'm pretty sure this qualifies as
"Ox in the mire".
Rod made a quick run to Lowes and bought
a new tank.

I'm so blessed to have a husband and son
who can literally fix anything.

Oh yeah.
And Rod has a cold.
His nose started running yesterday but
I thought it was the dust.
He and Kyle were cleaning out the office.
5 more bags of trash!
But nope, its a cold.

I made a batch of "grab and go"
protein bites.
They are DELICIOUS and good for you.
And give you a quick bite of energy.

I'm going to have to make another batch.
The problem with this hurricane taking
SO LONG to get here,
we're going to eat all our hurricane food
before the storm hits!

The storm is now a Cat 5.
We are extremely worried about the Bahamas.
Those folks are getting pounded right now.
It will take them years and years to recover.

Meanwhile...
we are in what they like to call the
"windshield wiper" phase.
Back / forth / east / west...
It's honestly anybody's guess where
this thing is going to go.

Meanwhile...
As soon as the guys get the water situation
under control, they will board up the windows.
One good thing about living in this house...
we don't have very many windows.
Three large-ish windows and 1 small on the east
(front) side of the house.
Nothing on the north.
One bathroom window on the south.
And only the kitchen, laundry and patio doors
on the west (back) side.
It will take them maybe 2 or 3 hours
to finish up boarding the windows.
(Which is WAY better than many houses...)

Once we get the windows boarded up,
we are back to "wait and see".

This map shows we have a 40% - 60% chance
of hurricane force winds.
That's pretty good.
But we are still 48+ hours out.

So we are pacing ourselves.
Prepping.
Keeping an eye on the news.
And staying calm.
(Do NOT listen to the hype on the TV.)
They are loosing their minds because it
really is a HUGE storm - the biggest many of
them have ever seen in their lives.
And this is their LIVES.
They LOVE this stuff.
So cut all the nonsense by 50% at least.

And stay calm.
We're fine.
And we might still get a new bathroom out of this.
