Vacation Plans Change

This post is mostly for me.
So I have a record.
For when we rebook.

Yup, REbook.

Kyle ended up in the ER again Friday night.
(Well, Saturday morning...)
He called me in my hotel about 2:45.
He has been having trouble breathing lately.
Not breathing, getting oxygen.
He thinks he has developed asthma.
Possibly from all the chemicals he has
breathed in over the many years working
at the farm and ranch.

They did an X-ray on his lungs and said
they were clear, his blood oxygen levels
were 100%. He’s fine.
The diagnosis was stress induced anxiety.

Headed to the Urgent Care on Saturday
morning with Rod.
Got an excellent Dr.
(The ER Doc was a dud.)

First thing she did was trash the scrip he
got at the ER. Said it was a great idea
if he was a 300 pound man.
Gave him something more reasonable
and a recommendation for a bunch of more
natural choices.
Spent about 30 minutes with them.
He felt better about the whole thing when
they were done.

But none of us are comfortable with the
idea of him being in an airplane and having
another attack tomorrow while on a 7 hour flight.
(Not to mention its COLD out there right now...)

So this morning I cancelled our flight.
Rod cancelled the rental car.
And I kind of had an idea this was coming,
so I actually never booked our hotel rooms.

He's feeling better today,
heart is racing a bit (80-84, not terrible)
which is a side effect of the meds.
Sitting on the couch, eating a banana to bring
his potassium levels up,
and watching a silly kid movie.
(Decided his usual movies are too ... action packed?)
Hahahahahahahaha.

Meanwhile, I'm cancelling flights,
cleaning the kitchen, unpacking from the weekend,
finishing my school paperwork,
and planning to head to the grocery store.
(There's no food since we were going to be gone
for a week...)

Anyhow.
We are all disappointed to not be going.
Especially Kyle and Rod.
But this freak storm, combined with Kyle's
medical issues ... we'll just put it on hold for a bit.
(I suggested to swap the Utah mountains for a
car trip to the Tennessee mountains... they are
"thinking about it" for maybe next week...)
Rod is going to work this week but Kyle is still
taking a week vacation.
(He has 5 weeks built up...)
He didn't tell Linda where he was going, so he isn't
going to say anything to her.
Just not having to talk to them multiple times
every day will help with his stress levels.

So.

That's the current state of affairs.
