New Furniture Part 3

It's fixed!!!

Meet the new couch.

It's a Kane's Furniture Avalon style.
Lots of lumbar support.
Yummy chocolate leather.
Both ends recline.
Perfect for us!

We flipped the room around, so the kitchen
is behind the couch.

(The basket is the one the yummy
Christmas pears came in - now it's holding
my knitting.)

This is what it looks like coming in from the french doors in the
back of the house.
This is the power recliner.
That's where I'm sitting right now.

Behind the floor lamp, hanging on the wall
is a cool wall hanging made of
horseshoes that Mom & Dad sent us.
It holds our bridles, cowboy hats,
and Rod's rope.
(Notice the beautiful end table...
more on that later.)

And of course next to that is the
awesome metal buffalo Mom & Dad sent us.
(See a theme? LOL)
(You can see the open front door on the left
side of the picture...)

The map has a bunch of pins.
They represent all the places the guys
made deliveries during their
trucking days.
We keep it up because the missionaries
love to look and show where they are from.

Next to the map is Bob.
My wall fish.
And a couple of Kyle's beautiful photographs

The fireplace could use a cleaning.

Turning the room this direction
makes it a little smaller,
but much cozier.
I think we all like it.
Except you can't see out the french doors.
But that's ok.

Behind the couch there is a space
to walk through and then four wooden
bar chairs that sit up at the breakfast bar.
(And in the foreground is an awesome lamp
... you guessed it ...  Mom & Dad sent it to us!)

In the back corner, next to the doors
is our piano with a cool lamp.
WE bought it.
And above that is the cave art Rod and I
found at a little shop in Moab, UT.
So we DID help with the decor of our house...

Remember the three gorgeous end tables?

Kyle made those.
All the inlays are hand hewn oak
from an oak tree he cut down,
let age out in the back pasture for a year or so,
and then he cut and planked it all by hand.

I LOVE them.

So, there you have it.

Our first new furniture since we bought our
blue sleeper sectional back in 1990.

(We got rid of that in 2008-ish?)
(Replaced it with the black leather sectional
that came with the house - it was in the garage...)

Hopefully this is our final furniture purchase
for a LONG LONG TIME.
(Which, based on our past performance is
a pretty good bet.)

Love Love Love it! I really like the way you turned the room around too! So many great things about that - you can see the TV from the kitchen, you can see out the patio doors from the big easy chair (where you blog from! giving you inspiration!) You get the warmth from the fireplace, and I happen to like the look of it - makes it look "used" and "loved"...
I quite like it all!! Congrats!
